The National Rescue Contact List

Imagine this: a volunteer walks down the aisles of a shelter, checking out the new arrivals. Each new dog gets a quick pat and a kind word. Then she snaps a picture with her Blackberry or iPhone and, with just a few clicks, sends the photo and the shelter contact info to a national rescue group who will forward the information to the nearest breed rescue group.

No more hunting down local contacts. No more combing websites for emails and phone numbers. Just point, click and send. Instantly the word gets sent out to the right group.

If you have a Blackberry or iPhone, this can be your reality today. This first release of the National Rescue Contact List contains the national rescue contacts for AKC breeds and foundation stock breeds: email, website and phone numbers, when listed. Import it into your phone contact list and send photos to national AKC reps instantly.

Donate $10 to ARI and you'll get the complete list of 189 national breed rescue contacts in an excel sheet, ready for import into either Outlook or your phone. OR, if you don't need it, tell us to send the to a rescuer who might not be able to afford it. A $50 donation licenses the list for use by ALL volunteers and employees at one shelter! ARI is a 501(c)3 organization so your donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Just click on the Donate box to the left. Tell me who you want to sponsor or tell me to choose a rescuer or shelter who has asked for help.

 We're all about rescue.

High tech infrastructure for our programs and yours.

While we DO stay on the frontline of rescue ourselves, we have an equally strong calling to help other organizations. We cooperate with other rescue groups and provide a 501(c) umbrella for those that don't yet have their determinations.

Animals: we're the partner you need to go to the next level without interfering with your frontline and internal operations. We can provide a 501(c) umbrella for your fundraising activities as well as help with the 501(c) applications. If you're like most rescues, two of your biggest problems are transport and home visits. We can help with that, too, with a national network of experienced home visitors and (soon) low cost transportation resources.

This is Molly. She is a two year old Basset Hound. She was hit by a car and her owner could not afford medical care. He asked the vet to put her down. Our program, in cooperation with a great vet, saved her.

Children: at the heart of our at-risk youth program is a strong martial arts program. Good commercial programs run $100-200 a month and our target populations can't afford that. Working through entities such as the Boys and Girls Clubs, we provide a complete and balanced martial arts program, providing all training equipment, personal protection gear and uniforms and belts. Through the generosity of our supporters, we're able to take our kids to tournaments and participate fully in all aspects of martial arts.

The legal stuff: ARI  is incorporated in Tennessee as a not-for-profit corporation. On June 3, 2008, we received notification that the IRS had approved us as a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c). Our application was completed by Non-Profit Organization Services, a leader in the field. Approval of 501(c) status is retroactive to October, 2005. Your donations to ARI are tax-deductible.
